The Captain and Crew are excited to welcome you aboard Hawkeye and are trained to make sure you have a safe and memorable sailing experience!
Captains
Andy
Captain Andy is a Tampa native and will use his knowledge of the local waters to make your charter a relaxing and memorable experience. If your party includes children, Andy will use his experience as a former high school teacher to help accommodate groups with mixed ages. If you are itching to cruise beyond the Bay, he is familiar with the Florida Gulf Coast and will suggest an exciting multi-day itinerary.
Captain Andy is excited to share his passion for sailing with your group! Andy holds the USCG 50-Ton Masters license with sailing endorsement.

Andy is also a certified instructor for the American Sailing Association (ASA), Offshore Sailing School, US Sailing and NauticEd.

Welcome aboard!
Wayne
Captain Wayne started sailing over 50 years ago. After retiring from the corporate world, Wayne started teaching sailing.
He holds an USCG 100-Ton Captain’s License with a sailing endorsement and auxiliary towing endorsement. He is licensed and certified through NauticEd as a Master Instructor and also holds an American Sailing Instructor Certificate.
Wayne has sailed in lakes, the Gulf of Mexico and tributaries and the British Virgin Islands.

He and his wife, Carrie, live in St. Petersburg, FL.
Crew
Kathryn
Kathryn is an experienced First Mate and will help ensure your comfort and safety.

Always ready to welcome you aboard with a smile, she is also known to have her camera ready to help capture memorable moments for you and your guests. Boating guests have named her the "Creator of Great Vibes."
Sara
Sara has been sailing in the Tampa Bay Area for nearly 20 years. After learning to sail at a local summer camp, she went on to compete and coach throughout high school and college. After working behind a desk for a decade, she’s found her way back to her passion and is working towards her Captain's License to see where life will take her.
You can always count on a smile when she’s behind the wheel of Hawkeye!
Alan
Alan has been boating on Florida waters since he was a kid. He’s been sailing for four years on a variety of sailboats. When he’s not out sailing with Tampa Bay Sunset Sail he takes his 2002 32-foot Hunter out with his wife, who he's been married to for 20 years.
Joseph
Joseph is a retired U.S. Army Aviator with a lifelong dream to sail the Caribbean. In 2023, he completed his American Sailing 101, 103, 104, 105, 106, 114 and 118 certifications. He is now logging seatime with the eventual goal of earning the US Coast Guard 25-Ton Master License with sailing endorsement.
The Captains and Crew are enrolled in a DOT randomized drug testing program, as required by the US Coast Guard.
